About

Geoff first became interested in horses and photography at the age of 11 but his serious career started in the Army where he qualified both as an Equitation Instructor and a Veterinary Radiographer.

Geoff met his wife Pam during his time in the army, she shared his interest in horses and photography with the same enthusiasm.

On leaving the army in the 70’s they set up their own business covering Equestrian Events and they believe they ran one of the first photographic companies to offer this service in colour.

They established Marston Photographics in the early Seventies covering equestrian events, after a decade of Equestrian Photography they moved to Aberdeen for family reasons. Because of the distance from the Equestrian World their photography had to adapt to more available markets so Geoff worked in the Offshore Industry but in his time onshore continued to cover local Pony Club Events. Geoff started competing himself in Showjumping and Eventing as well as teaching equestrian skills.

In the late 80’s Geoff retired from the gruelling demands of the Offshore Industry to take up teaching riding skills and training horses fulltime, eventually moving back south with Pam after their children had all grown up.

About 9 years ago they restarted the photographic business creating portraits of peoples horses and other pets on commission, they also produce portraits of riding school horses and ponies and provide garments and other memorabilia with these images for the schools to sell on to their customers. Geoff still continued to compete on his stallion Raphael, he also provides photographic coverage of equestrian events for the military. When their stallion retired to stud about 4 years ago it left a big gap in their lives so they have decided to launch back into the Photographic Event business full time.

Now they have come full circle and with digital technology they hope to provide an even better service than they provided in the seventies with the same enthusiasm and love of horses that has always driven them.

They look forward to meeting old friends and acquaintances as well as making new ones in 2010
